Bukhara Urial (Ovis vignei bochariensis)

The Bukhara urial is a wild sheep species native to Central Asia, including Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and parts of Afghanistan. It is a subspecies of the urial, characterized by its reddish-brown coat and distinctive white rump patch.

Males possess large, curled horns that can reach up to 40 inches (102 cm) in length.
Adult males typically weigh between 130–180 pounds (59–82 kg), while females are smaller, weighing between 70–110 pounds (32–50 kg). They stand about 2.5–3 feet (0.76–0.91 meters) tall at the shoulder.

Successful hunting requires skill, patience, and the ability to navigate the rugged terrain. Spot-and-stalk techniques are commonly employed, with hunters carefully approaching the urial’s habitat, often at high altitudes.
