Oxus Holding offers sustainable mountain hunting in Tajikistan across 49,000 hectares. The company cooperates with global partners and ensures comfortable lodging, transport, meals, and professional guide services. Ethical hunting and wildlife protection are at the core of its mission.
In Tajikistan, Bukhara ibexes inhabit the mountainous regions along the Panj River, which forms part of the border with Afghanistan, extending northward to the base of the Ismoil Somoni Mountains. These areas are characterized by high altitudes and challenging landscapes, providing a natural haven for the species.
Hunting the Bukhara ibex is a physically demanding and exhilarating experience, attracting hunters worldwide. The hunting season typically runs from September to February, with the best period being from September 1 to November 15. Hunters embark on foot expeditions, often requiring multiple days to track and approach these elusive animals. Accommodations range from wooden base camps to spike camps, ensuring a balance between comfort and proximity to hunting grounds.
In January 2025, a significant milestone was achieved when a hunter successfully harvested a Bukhara ibex with horn measurements reaching 129 cm (50 inches), marking a new record for the species.
The Bukhara ibex is classified as “Near Threatened” by the IUCN due to habitat loss and hunting pressures. Conservation initiatives in Tajikistan focus on sustainable hunting practices, habitat preservation, and community engagement to ensure the species’ survival.
